A built-in entertainment center isn't something you buy at a furniture store. It's a framed and drywalled structure built directly onto or into the wall — recessed niches, display shelves, TV mounting columns, fireplace surrounds. When it's done right, it looks like it was always part of the house.
Phoenix Drywall Repair LLC handles the framing and drywall portion of built-in entertainment center projects throughout the Phoenix metro area. We frame the structure, hang drywall, tape and mud all seams and inside corners, texture to match the surrounding walls, and prime for your painter or finish carpenter.
A standard built-in entertainment center — TV niche, flanking columns, up to 12 feet wide — takes 3–4 days. Day one is framing. Days two and three are drywall, tape, and compound (which needs drying time between coats). Day four is final sand, texture, and prime.
Larger or more complex projects — full wall builds, recessed fireplace surrounds, projects with unusual geometry — run 4–6 days.
Drywalled built-ins look seamless with the rest of the room because they use the same materials. When textured and painted to match, the built-in looks like it was designed into the house from the beginning — not added later. Wood-framed box structures can look tacked-on; drywalled ones don't.
The drywall also provides a better substrate for tile, stone, or veneer if you're going that direction on the fireplace surround or feature wall.
